Advanced Injections

As well as dermal fillers and muscle relaxing injections, our doctors and nurses also offer more advanced injectable treatments to help sculpt and contour the face while restoring lost facial volume to give you a fuller, younger-looking face.

You are probably wondering what’s so different about an advanced injection?

Advanced Injections can include many areas including:

  • Cheek Enhancement
  • Excessive Sweating
  • Neck Rejuvenation
  • Migraines
  • Scarring

If you are considering an advanced injection using a Dermal Filler or Muscle Relaxing Injection, the first step is to explore whether it’s right for you.

If you know friends or family members who have had treatment, discuss their experiences with them.

Once you are happy that this is the correct procedure for you, you now must choose a qualified practitioner, read our “Looking for a practitioner you can trust” checklist for some helpful tips and hints.

When searching for a qualified practitioner for either facial volumising, neck rejuvenation or even excessive sweating, it is very important to select someone who is medically qualified, works in a well-established clinic and is able to advise you on the best course of treatment for you.

Your chosen practitioner should have specific training in using the products and have an established expertise in these procedures.

Facial Contouring & Facial Volumising

Cheek Enhancement and Facial Volume

Glowing, rounded cheeks have always been a sign of youth. As we grow older, we experience age-related facial fat loss which can leave us with hollowed out cheeks. This can also happen with weight loss as well, and can significantly increase the appearance of ageing.

Luckily, here at the Aesthetics House, we can offer a treatment with instant results using only the leading brands.

How is it treated?

Cheek Enhancements are now one of the most popular injectables carried out today. Based on Hyaluronic Acid volumisers recontour the face to restore volume to the chin, cheeks, and cheekbones. Many of the leading brands use these products to perform non-surgical facelifts, beautifying the face by lifting and sculpting cheekbones, chin region, nose and temples, to restore the lost “Triangle of youth”. It creates a smooth natural look, rather than the distinctive mask often caused by surgery.

What can I expect from the treatment?

Immediately after the treatment, you should notice that your facial contours appear fuller and rounder, giving your face a softer, more youthful appearance. The results are instant and can last up to 18 months and in some cases up to 2 years. There’s no down time – most people resume normal activities immediately.

The volumisers that we use are safe, non-animal derived Hyaluronic Acids that can be reversed simply and easily. Here at theAesthetics House, we only use the leading brands in Advanced Anti Ageing Injections.

Depending on your course of dermal filler treatment, you may notice a return of the soft, full cheeks, and firm, high cheekbones of youth, a refreshing revolumisation of the face, and a marked return of the smooth jowls and jawline and the firm chin of youth.  Anti Wrinkle Injections also combines with collagen and elastin to improve skin structure and elasticity thereby creating a smooth natural look.

Lip Enchancement

Anti Wrinkle Injections – Dermal Fillers

Wondering what to do about those smile lines?

For instantly rejuvenated skin, dermal fillers work to plump up the skin and erase those troublesome lines.

At theAesthetics House, we offer a range of Anti Wrinkle Injections, a new generation of Hyaluronic Acid fillers from Allergan, a world leader in surgical and non-surgical aesthetic products.

What are the benefits of Anti Wrinkle Injection Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers address the non surgical way of improving facial volume and other ageing concerns. It promises to make a difference and give you a youthful glow that everyone will notice – but no one will know it’s not natural.

We use Anti Wrinkle Injections to treat:

  • Tear troughs (under the eyes)
  • Cheeks
  • Smile lines
  • Lips
  • Marionette lines (mouth to chin lines)
  • Rhinoplasty
  • Facial assymmetry

How do Anti Wrinkle Injections work?

Hyaluronic Acid is a substance that naturally occurs in the skin and helps to add hydration and volume. Anti Wrinkle Injections uses it in a smooth gel form which flows easily into the skin, instantly filling out those troublesome lines.

What can I expect?

In order to reduce the risk of bruising and bleeding at the injection site we recommend that you avoid any medications which can prolong bleeding, such as aspirin and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAIDs) for at least 3-4 days prior to treatment.

You may experience some temporary injection related reactions, such as redness, pain, firmness, swelling and bumps, but studies show that they are usually mild and resolve themselves within a few days.

To help minimise the risks of temporary redness, swelling and/or itching you should avoid strenuous exercise, excessive sun or heat exposure and consumption of alcohol for the first 24 hours following treatment. If you do experience any swelling at the injection site, briefly applying an ice pack will help soothe it.

Looking for Pain Free Lip Enhancement?

Aesthetics House can now offer the option of dental blocks for pain free dermal filler lip treatments. The dental block is a safe local anaesthetic which is applied prior to receiving a dermal filler lip treatment. For treatment areas speak to one of our expert practitioners today.

How many Anti Wrinkle Injection treatments will I need?

You’ll notice an immediate improvement after just one treatment!

Anti Wrinkle Injections will give you a immediate improvement in the treatment areas. So you can step into your doctors office for treatment and step right back into your life. The majority of patients need just one treatment to achieve optimal wrinkle smoothing, which smoothes lines and wrinkles for up to nine months, in some cases a year! However, results may vary from patient to patient and correction is temporary. To achieve and maintain optimal results ‘touch up’ treatments may be required.

Marionette Lines

Marionette Lines: Causes and Treatments

As we age, dealing with marionette lines becomes a common frustration for many individuals. If you’re not sure what they are, these lines run from the corners of the mouth to the chin, and are usually visible in aging skin. The problem with marionette lines is that they tend to show emotion, even if we are not trying to express anything. Unfortunately, this may lead others to believe that you are sad or angry, leading to misunderstandings and, in some cases, embarrassment. Because marionette lines can be so prominent, they are a common complaint addressed by dermatologists and skin care specialists.

Why Marionette Lines Occur

While not everyone gets marionette lines, there are some common reasons why they occur. As we age, the ligaments near the chin and mouth loosen. Fat deposits in the face also begin to deplete, creating hollowness under the skin. As these issues become exacerbated with age, many people notice sagging skin, which is responsible for creating the lines. Sadly, there is no real way to prevent marionette lines if you are genetically predisposed to them, but viable treatment options are available.

Marionette Lines vs. Wrinkles

Marionette lines are different than wrinkles because they don’t just make you look older, but can cause the face to look sad or angry. The other types of wrinkles on face or neck do not have nearly as much effect. For example, the smile lines that run from the nose to the edges of the mouth don’t really change your emotional appearance. Crow’s feet and lip wrinkles do not make the face look like its frowning or upset. Marionette lines, on the other hand, can get quite annoying.

Treatment with a Face Lift

One common treatment for marionette lines is the face lift, especially for deep lines. Most people who get facelifts to treat marionette lines tend to do so as part of a more comprehensive procedures, such as tightening the loose skin on the neck and jaw line. New face lift procedures include tiny incision and short recovery periods, although it is still a surgical procedure that carries risk of infection. Marionette face lift procedures are different from a regular facelift in that it doesn’t make the face appear surgically altered, because there is no change in the appearance of skin around the eyes or cheeks.

Topical Creams

If you prefer not to have incisions or to go through recovery, topical creams may treat mild instances of marionette lines. The topical treatments usually include retinol as well as collagen, to increase elasticity and prevent sagging skin. Other topical creams include alpha-hydroxy acid, which attracts moisture to the surface to make the skin plumper. Some people may pair topical treatments with facial exercises to tighten skin. However, no topical skin treatment can completely remove marionette lines, and should be considered with realistic expectations.

Dermabrasion and Chemical Peels

Many adults dealing with marionette lines turn to exfoliating procedures to reduce the appearance of lines by removing dead skin. Dermabrasion and chemical peels are two frequently used treatments that can effectively slough off dead skin cells without significant side effects. Other than skin irritation and peeling, these two treatments do not tend to produce significant problems. However, your individual skin chemistry is unique, and you are encouraged to proceed very carefully with any such procedures, as long term skin discoloration may occur.

Injectable Fillers

For those who can tolerate needles, injections are another common treatment option for marionette lines. Fillers containing hyaluronic acid, for example, may be used to fill in the space under the lines to tighten skin. Hyaluronic acid also attracts moisture, which helps plump up the area longer, because the acid can hold 1,000 times its weight in water. There are a few side effects with fillers, like bruising or redness at the injection site, but otherwise, they are quite safe. The marionette lines fillers do need to be replaced on a regular basis, usually around four to six months depending on the filler you choose.

Nasolabial Lines

The nasolabial folds, commonly known as “smile lines” or “laugh lines”, are facial features. They are the two skin folds that run from each side of the nose to the corners of the mouth. They separate the cheeks from the upper lip. The term derives from Latin nasus for “nose” and labium for “lip”.

Cosmetology issues
With ageing the fold may become more pronounced. While cosmetically undesirable to some, others may consider it a sign of maturity, age, or character. The most significant factors that contribute to the prominence of the fold are excess skin, skin thinning, excess cheek fat, and ptosis of cheek fat.

Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty is one of the most desired cosmetic procedures, but many patients are frightened by the potential complications and the risk of unfavourable cosmetic results. Non surgical rhinoplasty is a safe, non-invasive alternative to traditional rhinoplasty. Sometimes it is called the 15 minute nose job as the treatment involves only Dermal filler injection to reshape nose.

This is an excellent, affordable option for people who want to change the shape of their noses but do not want surgery. Results are instant; there is no downtime, no general anaesthetic and no prolonged healing.

Who is suitable for Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty?

Anyone who has:

-Slightly crooked nose
-Small nose that needs building up
-Hook shaped noses that would like straightening
-A mild to moderate bump on the bridge of the nose
-A mild to moderate drooping of nasal tip
-A nose that needs refinement after surgical rhinoplasty
-Noses that would like more height, definition and a nose tip

What does the Non-surgical Rhinoplasty procedure involve?

Prior the treatment: Topical anaesthetic will be applied for 15-30 minutes prior the treatment

The procedure: Dermal filler is injected in small amounts and in precise locations into your skin so that there is total control over the shape and contours created by the procedure. The practitioner will then massage the product to re-shape the nose. During the procedure, you are fully awake. You hold a mirror and you are in complete control of the procedure’s results.

Post treatment: you should avoid touching or applying make up on the treated area for 6 hours in order to prevent infection. Specific post treatment instruction will be given.

The results are immediate and last from 6-12 months. Because the results are relatively temporary, adjustments can be made as your face changes over time and you always retain a natural look.

What is Dermal filler?

Dermal fillers are materials that are frequently used to correct scarring, wrinkles, and other depressions in the skin. They are often a kind of soft tissue designed in such a way that enables injection into the skin for purposes of improving the appearance. Generally, they are made of several types of materials of synthetic, man-made and natural categories, and they have been developed into various standards depending on the level of usage.

Which type of Dermal filler used to re-shape nose?

The most common Dermal Filler used for nose area are Hyaluronic acid ( such as Restylane and Juvederm).

Hyaluronic acid is one of nature’s most versatile and fascinating substances. It is found throughout the body as well as in most other living organisms. It has many functions, from giving the skin elasticity and providing our skin with volume, giving it a youthful appearance. Restylane and Juvederm are sterile gels consisting of non-animal, cross-linked, hyaluronic acid (HA) and are made in a laboratory. They contain no human or animal DNA and have the best safety profile of all the fillers currently on the market as it is the only type of filler that is reversible. These products are FDA approved for use in the nasolabial fold and are used “off-label” in other areas.

Recovery time

There is very little to no down-time involved in the procedure. In fact, most patients return to their normal, daily activities right after their visit. There is no significant swelling, bruising or pain. However, sunglasses or heavy eyeglasses must be avoided for two weeks after the procedure.

How long the result will last?

The result generally last from 6-12 months.
A plan for regular follow-up treatments to maintain the initial result can be created for you. Our treatment provides a long-lasting but not permanent result leaving you the option of refining your treatment in tune with changing taste and fashion.

Tear Trophs

The area between the lower eyelid and upper cheek is referred to as the ‘Tear Trough’. As we age these change in appearance becoming longer, deeper and more shadowed. This is a normal part of the ageing process but gives the impression of being tired and less youthful looking.

Various factors contribute to this formation and your practitioner may suggest a treatment plan that includes strengthening the upper cheek to support the area as well as treating the Tear Trough itself for the best cosmetic result. These treatments are delivered with dermal fillers for a soft and natural correction. The strength of the skin in this area is another factor to consider and you may be recommended a treatment to improve the quality of the skin ranging from a topical treatment to radio frequency skin tightening.

Treatment options for Tear Troughs include:

  • Dermal Filler
  • Tri Active+
  • SmartXide2
Perioral Lip Wrinkle

Perioral wrinkles are the fine or deep lines that occur around the mouth and lips. As we get older this area is often one of the first to develop wrinkles. Like most wrinkles on the face, sun exposure, genetics and smoking (smokers lines) are strong contributors to the development of these wrinkles.

Unfortunately these wrinkles progressively worsen with time, often making individuals look older. No matter how accepting one may be of the natural aging process, perioral wrinkles are the least tolerated.

Fortunately peri-oral wrinkles are treatable. Laser skin resurfacing offers a long-term or permanent solution following a single office procedure. Temporary treatment using Restylane is also available and immediately achieves excellent results allowing resumption of normal activities after the procedure. Note: Light chemical peels or microdermabrasion are not effective in the treatment of upper/lower lip wrinkles.

Depending on your skin and your goals The Practitioner will assist you in deciding on a treatment plan that best suits your needs. Since every patient has individual needs, The Practitioner will discuss the best option for your skin during your consultation.

Non Surgical Rhinoplasty

The nose is one of the most central parts of our face. If seemingly out of place or too large or an odd shape it may detract from our natural beauty and for many it’s something that they would love to correct.

However whilst plastic surgery is a popular option (We’ve all heard of the term ‘nose job’) there is now a way to have a nose job without surgery. Technology has evolved that now allows a safe, painless local anaesthetic procedure to be carried out at our clinic with quick recovery and minimal time off work or downtime.

By using a dermal filler such as Aquamid we can reshape and contour the nose to achieve results that were previously only ever possible with plastic surgery. Non-surgical nose reshaping is mainly suitable for those who need refinement of their nose shape – we cannot of course make a large nose smaller with this treatment. If you would like to know more about our Non-Surgical treatments please do call us on 0208 723 1111.

The huge benefits of our Non-Surgical nose job is that the procedure is quick (Around thirty minutes), downtime is around two days and the results are natural and balanced without having to undergo any invasive surgery. This finally provides patients with a Non-Surgical option and has proven very popular with those who feel plastic surgery is not right for them.

It is also worth bearing in mind that different fillers allow for different results over time with Aquamid correction lasting up to 10 years. Other fillers you may have heard of include Juvederm and Radiesse.

Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty cannot of course replace a traditional Rhinoplasty especially where there is a desire to dramatically reduce the size of the nose. However, it is a great way to correct some smaller issues with great results and is often a huge confidence booster for our patients.

Q: What are the benefits of a Non-Surgical Nose Shaping or a Non-Surgical ‘Nose Job’ ?
A: A Non-Surgical nose job can be used to improve the shape of the tip of the nose and bridge where surgery is not desired or following a rhinoplasty to correct main deformities or issues. Small deformities can easily be corrected in this safe and effective treatment under local anaesthetic in an out-patient setting.

Q: Am I the ideal patient for Non-Surgical Nose Shaping?
A: Non-surgical nose reshaping can be performed on any patient who wishes to improve the appearance of the nose but does not want a surgical Rhinoplasty. However, a large nose cannot be made smaller, although a bump or hump on the bridge can be smoothed out using this procedure. A Non-surgical nose job is ideally suited for refining the nose or correcting small areas where they affect the general look of the nose.

Q: Does a Non-Surgical Nose Job require a general anaesthetic or hospital stay?
A: The procedure is performed under local anaesthetic in an out-patient setting without the need of any stay in hospital.

Q: How long is the procedure?
A: The procedure normally takes less than 30 minutes to perform.

Q: What reassurance do I have?
A: Our Non-Surgical Nose Job is performed in a safe treatment environment using the best available injectable products, Juvederm, Radiesse or Aquamid. Complicated nose reshaping procedures are normally performed in 2 or 3 sessions to ensure an optimum result.

Q: How long is the recovery time?
A: Patients can go back to their normal activities after 2 days. You should avoid pressure on the nose for 5 days, so for example, avoid sleeping on the front or side. Minimal bruising may occur which usually resolves in 5 – 7 days. The nose may be tender for 3 – 5 days following treatment.

Q: What about the results?
A: The results are first and foremost natural. Non-surgical nose shaping will enhance the appearance of the nose ensuring that it is more aesthetically balanced with your features.

Q: How long do the results last?
A: The results of will last from 6 to 18 months in general. Treatment with Juvederm will last from 6 to 12 months while treatment using Radiesse is expected to last from 12 to 18 months and our procedure using Aquamid will provide correction for 5 to 10 years.

Q: Is Non-Surgical Nose Shaping an alternative to a traditional Rhinoplasty?
A: Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty cannot replace a traditional Rhinoplasty if your deformity is significant or the nose needs to be reduced in size. It is, however, an effective way of correcting some deformities of the nose especially following a previous Rhinoplasty when you may want to avoid a further revision surgery.
