The SmartXide2 can treat a wide variety of dermatological and cosmetic goals and will help to improve:
Skin laxity and texture
Wrinkles and fine lines
Acne scarring and scar reduction
CO2 Fractional skin resurfacing is increasingly become one of today most popular aesthetic treatments. The excitement within the industry caused by this is due to the incredible results and long term effects on a wide range of dermatological and cosmetic skin conditions.
Yes. It can be used for every part of your face, eye area, neck, hands, décolleté and periocular area, even with the finest most sensitive or delicate skin-types.
The laser works by creating literally thousands of microscopic perforations, or’ dots’ which will
- Induce immediate skin tightening
- Stimulate new collagen and elastin growth
- Improve the skin’s texture
- Tone to fight fine lines and deep wrinkles.
The result is younger looking and feeling skin.
All changes in your skin obtained with the DEKA SmartXide2 CO2 Laser & RF System are permanent. We always advise our clients to use prescribed products at home to help improve their skin tone and obtain their results. We also advise that a course is sometimes necessary depending on the condition or the skin; nevertheless, the benefits can be seen within a few days and will gradually diminish with the natural ageing process.
The only sensation you can expect is a light to medium “stinging” depending on your pain threshold, which only lasts a fraction of a second. Compared to traditional treatments with CO2 lasers, the DOT method now enables a significant reduction of after-treatment pain. We always apply Emla cream, a local anaesthetic just to make you feel more comfortable, followed by cool air to reduce the heat that is generated.
This treatment is safe for men and women of nearly all ages and skin types, however like most laser resurfacing treatments; SmartXide2 may not be recommended for patients with darker or ethnic skin tones, due to the risk of scarring and permanent pigmentation changes.
The duration of your SmartXide2 DOT treatment depends on the size and number of areas being treated, but typically the procedure takes around an hour. However, we do advise you to come in and see the consultant prior and post your procedure.
Visible results can be seen following the very first procedure; however you can work out a treatment plan with your practitioner depending on your concerns, needs and skin condition.
The only precaution recommended is to use a high factor sunscreen on a daily basis and to keep the area regularly hydrated with a suitable moisturiser.
Immediately following the procedure the skin may feel tight, appear very pink and feel hot and stingy. The erythema will generally only last for a few days depending on the depth of your procedure.
The majority of clients observe increased skin tone even after the first treatment. You may also notice that your skin marks such as pigmentation and scarring have faded after one single treatment, although two or three may be necessary to see the full effects.
As the laser stimulates the production of collagen you will notice a progressive improvement of your skin for at least four months after your last treatment. A general check-up will be needed so we can monitor your progress.
