The O-Shot® (or Orgasm Shot®) is a new procedure developed to solve your sexual problems, increase your pleasure, and rejuvenate your vagina. It is a nonsurgical technique that uses the growth factors each woman has in her own body to stimulate vaginal and clitoral rejuvenation to activate the Female Orgasm System. Thus far, almost all women receiving O-Shot® procedure enjoy an increased sexual response, and for many the improvement is dramatic. The O-Shot® is also effective in improving and treating conditions such as urinary incontinence.
Studies show that when platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is injected, stem cells multiply and grow new younger tissue. The O-Shot® procedure works by using PRP to stimulate stem cells to grow healthier vaginal tissue. The whole procedure for processing the blood and injecting the growth factors takes less than 45 minutes.
First, the doctor will apply a numbing cream to the vagina and the arm. In the same way as a blood test, blood is drawn from the arm. We then use our special method and a centrifuge to isolate the platelet rich plasma, leaving a sample that is full of growth factors.
A very thin needle is then used to inject the growth factors into a few specific, targeted places in the patient’s vagina. As these areas have already been numbed with anesthetic cream, little or no pain is felt. In some cases, the effect is immediate, but it can take up to 3-4 weeks.
With results being so quick, women can enjoy the effects of the O-Shot™ almost immediately, as the growth factors begin to rejuvenate the vagina and enhance the sexual response.
The O-Shot® procedure works by using the body’s natural ability to heal and rejuvenate itself by injecting growth factor rich Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) into the vagina to stimulate a regenerative process. It is the same technique used for the Vampire Facelift® whereby a small amount of blood is taken from the arm and then placed in a centrifuge where the plasma is then harvested. This plasma contains cell-regenerating growth factors, which, when injected into the vagina, trigger stem cells to grow healthier vaginal tissue.
There are a number of sexual arousal disorders that the O-Shot® can be used to address. It is estimated that as many as 1 in 20 women suffer from Female Sexual Arousal Disorder, which means that, while they may want to have sex, they find it difficult to get aroused, experience pleasure or achieve orgasm. Around 5% of women are also thought to suffer from Female Orgasmic Disorder, where they can become aroused but have difficulty achieving orgasm. Some women also suffer with pain during and after sex and some suffer from stress urinary incontinence especially after delivery, If you have any of these problems then the O-Shot® could be a solution for you. As with any treatment, you will need to have a consultation with Dr Athreyal first in order to assess your suitability and rule out any contraindications.
As a non-surgical solution, there is minimal pain and discomfort associated with the O-Shot® treatment with some patients reporting experiencing no pain at all. The procedure is performed under local anaesthetic to minimise any pain.
The treatment will take around 40 minutes.
One of the big advantages of the O-Shot® treatment is that you can return to your normal activities immediately after treatment. Sexual intercourse can even be resumed the same day.
